Little did Year 7 student Rowan P know that a Saturday morning shopping trip with his family would lead to him becoming part of St Helens 150 history celebrations.
Rowan was out shopping with his mum and younger brother and sister when he was approached to take part in the installation event of the 'Hashtag Mosaic' in Church Square shopping centre in St Helens.
The artwork explores visitors' memories of St Helens from the last century and a half.
In the run-up to the event a hashtag campaign had been launched providing shoppers with an opportunity to upload their photos to have them included in the mosaic, with the aim of the final image creating a stunning St Helens skyline and which will be a permanent fixture in the centre.
Always willing to help Rowan, assisted by his brother and sister carefully matched the mosaic tiles to the grid which is situated in the heart of the shopping centre for all passers-by to see.
Commenting on his involvement in the project Rowan said: 'It was great to be part of this event to celebrate 150 years of St Helens. The final effect is amazing.'
Well done Rowan (and Alex and Ellie!)
