St Cuthbert's and De La Salle students unite in Faith and friendship.
On Monday morning, we welcomed students from De La Salle School to share in our first ever inter-schools faith group. The aim of the group is to build relationships with students from other local schools, to collectively and individually explore our relationship with God, and to put our Faith into action together, within our community. Building on a message from Pope Francis, where our young people are encouraged to change the world by taking care of others, and by building fraternal communities with others, it was fabulous to see our students reaching out to make new friends, and share each other's different experiences of what it means to be a modern day Christian.
Our next Formation will take place at De La Salle next month, and our students are already looking forward the visit.
Collectively, the students decided to name the group 'Arise! - The Catholic Schools Society'. With the society motto of 'get up, get out and make a difference!'. This name and motto was also inspired by the teachings of Pope Francis, who urges our young people to arise and go, to get on the move and aim for heights, and to make dreams of peace come true!
