"Staff get to know pupils and their families well. This helps to make everyone feel welcome." - Ofsted July 2022
Hello and welcome to St Cuthbert’s.
We are so looking forward to meeting you officially in our upcoming Induction Days. We would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves; Mr Platt, your new Head of Year and Mr Heywood, your new assistant Head of Year. We may have already met you at your primary school or when you have visited us during Open Evenings but if we have not met you yet, don’t worry, you will get to know us quickly when you start at St Cuthbert’s.
The change from primary school to secondary is a big challenge and we are sure that many of you are nervous about what to expect but also remember that the move from primary to secondary school is one of the most exciting things you will do and will offer you a world of new opportunities. We would like to see as many of you as possible throwing yourself in to the many extra-curricular opportunities on offer at St Cuthbert’s.
Our expectations for you are high and we look forward to building a strong, positive working relationship with you all when you join us at St Cuthbert’s. We live by our ‘Golden Rule’ “Treat others as you would like to be treated!” (Matthew 7:12) and expect you to uphold our ethos of tolerance, care and respect. We aim to ensure that you receive the best education that we can offer and to celebrate your individual successes, no matter how big or small. If we work together, during your time at St Cuthbert’s you will become a confident, caring citizen with a set of skills that will lay out a path for a successful future.
We have worked hard to establish an area on our school website that you can access which will answer some of your burning questions and help to ease some of your worries.
We look forward to meeting you soon.
Mr Platt and Mr Heywood
