Mrs Tomlin
How long have you worked at St Cuthbert's?
9 years
Can you share a favourite memory about St Cuthbert's?
Sports day is by far my favourite day of the year. Watching the students working together & supporting each other is a pleasure and we have some amazing athletes here.
What made you go into teaching/working in a supporting role in school?
I was a beauty therapist for nearly 20 years. It was a job I loved but I felt I wanted to do more. Working with children / young adults is so rewarding. School seemed like the ideal job to me.
What is the best bit of advice you can give to your students?
Just do it! EVERYTHING: study, socialise, travel, have fun, get involved. Never again will you have so many opportunities presented to you. Make the most of every day at school.
What do you enjoy most about working at St Cuthbert's?
I enjoy working with students who 'get it'. Students who get that if they put the effort and engagement in, they will open pathways when they leave us to pursue any career they choose. I also enjoy helping those who need just a little bit more encouragement or confidence to realise they can get it too.
