Prison Officer Visit

Prison Officer Visit

Prison Officer Paul McGovern MBE visited our school on Tuesday and Wednesday this week and years 7-10 were fortunate enough to experience an informative presentation on the effects of anti-social behaviour such as knife crime, being part of a gang, drug use and violence. We also learned why it’s important to stay safe online. Paul spoke about so many different topics and informed us of the regrets some of the inmates have and some of their stories. He also spoke about what it is like to be in prison and the effects of some of the actions of the inmates have on their victims and their families.

We learnt such a lot and Year 7 and 8 have a competition to enter: they need to write a report on the session and the best fifteen entries in each year group will receive a prize. In addition, the top entries will be put on the website so watch this space!

Thank you Paul for coming to visit us! We hope to see you again soon.
