Best Awards Evening

11 October 2016

Students, staff, parents and invited guests came together at St Anne’s and Blessed Dominic Church, Sutton on Thursday night to celebrate our annual Awards Evening.

Over 100 students received prizes for achievement and commitment in the classroom, and their contribution to wider school life.

Our most-nominated students received their Student of the Year prizes from Mr Jim Davies, OBE, the High Sheriff of Merseyside, who gave a rousing speech at the end of the evening.

The Spirit Awards were given to those who had contributed their time, energy and ideas to extra-curricular clubs, fundraising initiatives and for truly living their St Cuthbert’s life in all its fullness. The main prize, the Spirit of St Cuthbert’s award was shared amongst 9 students who were inspired to fundraise for Alder Hay Hospital and the Teenage Cancer Trust, after their friend, Matthew Lee (Spirit of Dignity) was diagnosed and successfully treated for leukaemia.

The audience were also treated to some scenes from the cast of Matilda.
