St Anne’s Buzzing after Spelling Bee success

26 May 2016

Congratulations to Year Five St Anne's students who yesterday took part in the first ever St Cuthbert's Spelling Bee competition. The event was held in our Drama Theatre.

Students were called out and the asked to spell a word  drawn from the key spelling list for Key Stage 2.

The standard of spelling was very high throughout as the initial group of thirty six students was whittled down to two, in the final spelling shoot-out between Joseph Howden and Faye Dearden. Attempting to spell words suggested by the Technology, Maths and R.E. departments, it was finally down to Faye to collect the prestigious trophy and a Nando's Voucher with her correct spelling of the word "miracle".

St Cuthbert's would like to thank all students and staff involved for creating such an exciting and worthwhile event.
