World Mental Health Day
This day is really important for all of us in school. The number of children and young people affected by mental illnesses is increasing from the one in ten reported back in 2004. Poor mental health can have a big impact on a young person’s life both socially and academically.
There are many things we can all do to ensure good mental health – the first is to look after our physical health. Poor diet can affect our mood as can a lack of physical exercise, so by looking after our bodies, we’re also looking after our minds. School can be a stressful place, especially during assessments etc., so it’s important to make sure we take time for ourselves, maybe you could try the mindfulness app this week to allow yourself some breathing space.
