Mrs Johnson

How long have you worked at St Cuthbert's?

I started in 2007

Can you share a favourite memory about St Cuthbert's?

I have a few! I enjoyed celebrating the school's Golden Jubilee in my first year as a teacher here. We all went to Lowe House in St Helens and somehow managed to all fit in. It was a great day and I'm looking forward to our diamond jubilee mass at the Cathedral in Liverpool. Another fond memory is when myself and about 10 other members of staff performed a 'hand clapping' routine at an end of year assembly. We'd been practicing for weeks and never quite got it right, but managed to do it on the day. We loved it and so did the kids.

What made you go into teaching/working in a supporting role in school?

I always wanted to be a teacher when I was younger. Originally I wanted to teach in a primary school, but had some excellent and inspiring teachers in my secondary school - this made me want to work with older children and be able to watch them develop into mature young adults.

What is the best bit of advice you can give to your students?

Stop worrying about what others think of you and just take every opportunity that comes your way!

What do you enjoy most about working at St Cuthbert's?

The people!
