How long have you worked at St Cuthbert's?
Can you share a favourite memory about St Cuthbert's?
I love the run up to Christmas, there is always a very special atmosphere. Carol singing and Christmas assemblies are a lovely way to end the very busy first term.
What made you go into teaching/working in a supporting role in school?
I've always loved learning new things and science is so crucial to understanding the world and solving problems that affect everyone. I wanted to be part of inspiring that love of learning in young people and nothing makes me happier than seeing students grasp a difficult concept or discover something that really amazes them.
What is the best bit of advice you can give to your students?
Always keep on trying. Achieving something that took time and effort is always worthwhile. No-one ever regretted working hard at school but plenty of people regret wasting past opportunities.
What do you enjoy most about working at St Cuthbert's?
I first came to St Cuthbert's as a supply teacher and there was a very special atmosphere here that I had not experienced in any other school. The whole community of staff and students are very kind and supportive; people are treated as individuals and their talents are nurtured and celebrated here.
